The purpose of the words you're about to read

The purpose of these writings:

Every moment of life carries a deep, inner-dwelling desire for spiritual fullfilment. A connection to God. Until we recognize such a hunger and set out to satisfy it, we may never find true peace and joy.

These writings are meant for those searching for daily inspiration and seeking encouragement. They are meant, not to replace scripture, but are instead a supplement to provide fresh air to your spiritual lungs as you continue to run the race. They are meant to aid you in expanding the Kingdom of God through the love of Christ. Yes, Christ is our daily bread.

So please, make sure to not only read (and even if you don't) but also to share. Even if it's just one word, it might change someone's day.

Friendship

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go a bear fruit - fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other." -John 15:12-17

Friendship is our opportunity to bless and enrich the lives of others. Embracing this view of relationships will allow us to sift through our jealousy, anger, pride, selfishness, and attempts at dishonest gain.  We will then have the freedom to consume one another with a more real and personal love. A love that is nothing less than authentic. A love that takes a friends wounds upon our back and calls them our own. A love that soars with them to the mountain tops of joy. A love that speaks in the stillness. A humble love that washes their feet. A love that makes us want to lay down our life for others.

We all have on friend like this: Jesus Christ. Let us be an imitation of Him. He has laid the foundation for us to build upon, and now we must love one another as He has loved us. After all, we have desired and received this love. Let us share this gift with others, giving up all of ourselves so that His truth may be revealed.
